Even away from the scheduled presentations and workshops, the ICAR Congress is the perfect place to exchange ideas and discuss various topics with like-minded mountain rescuers. For this reason, we as organizers have decided to create a suitable space for such discussions. Therefore, a separate marquee will be set up, where rescuers can discuss in a cozy atmosphere. The marquee activity will start after the dinner and will be accompanied by local music groups and solo artists.

Drive to Prettau in the rear Ahrntal valley with a visit to the exhibition mine and the climate tunnel which is located also there. Afterwards we hike pleasantly in 20 minutes to the Talschlüsshütte for lunch with local and traditional cuisine. Return to Toblach is at about 15:00.

Thursday, 19.10.2023
Trip to Venice with a small city tour, including aperitif and lunch. There will be enough time afterwards to move freely through the lagoon city

Friday, 20.10.2023
Drive to Tirol above Meran with a walk to Castle Tirol. There you will get an insight into the history of South Tyrol in a guided tour. After lunch there will be a wine tasting.

Saturday, 21.10.2023
Joint trip to the nearby Pragsertal with a visit to the idyllic Pragser Wildsee, then we drive to Bruneck for a sightseeing tour.

Climate change and especially climate protection is more important than ever, that's why we will try to make a small contribution at the ICAR-Congress and are of course dependent on your help.

Dobbiaco is a small village with a modest infrastructure and can't compete with the big congress centers of the world. But it stands out even more for its wonderful nature and comfortable access to the local mountains. The location and rural surroundings mean that the distances from the accommodations to the ICAR-Congress are not too far, so they can easily be covered by foot or even by bicycle.

Therefore, bicycles will be provided at the more distant hotels (above the main road), with which you can comfortably ride to the congress. The bikes can be equipped with their own badge to avoid confusion.
